Dealer sign
« on: March 14, 2010, 04:09:00 pm »
I found a dealer sign from Action Sports here in Regina. IT is approximately 4x8 feet and is all handpainted.  A big thanks to the guys at the Joggle Joint Gallery for allowing the sale of this great piece of memorabilia that will be well preserved. Here is a pic of it in they're basement and then a pic of it in my shop.

  Wow What a lucky find.
Action Sports was in the building right across 8th ave from Roll-o-Flex.
Under the building category heading, in the picture in reply #9, it is the building in the lower right hand corner with the white truck parked by it.
Action Sports had a really good location there.  They did not have to inventory a lot of parts. We had to be careful not  to short ourselves on our assembly inventory. They were in Roll-o-Flex nearly every day  getting parts.

Wade that building is now home of Queen City Glass and the old ROF factory is home to Cloud Rider Design who manufacture the stainless steel inserts for the grills on trucks and suv's

I remember that sign very well. Who are the owners of Action Sports now days ? I know the original owner Lorne Waite I think was his name... it was a husband wife team and Lorne passed away very youing. Hully Gully Sports was one of the first dealers in Ont., they have grown to be one of the largest RV/snowmobile dealers in Ont. Nice to know at least some of the Roll-o-Flex dealers have made out well.  http://www.hullygully.com/
One comment in that Wild One picture ... What the "H" kind of effort is that upholstery !!??

Gene, Action Sports went out of business long ago.  Early 80's I think.

Hey go easy on the seat :D

I is just not snappend on.  I had just a flat cover (no pleats) made until I could have an exact replica made.  The new one looks great but this one is for riding and the good one for shows only.  It does look good when stretched out and snapped on.

You know when i posted that picture I was kind of embarassed about how it looked.  I was thinking about snapping it on the tunnel and retaking the picture.  I may have to now that you are all over it Gene ;D

Ha ha ... I wondered if that would get a response..... Don't be embarrassed ... I'm sure the sign was more important at the time.  ::) I'll look forward to an updated picture.
I'm on my way to Arizona next week and won't be back till near mid-May. I'll have my laptop with me so will be checking for updates regularly. (as usual)

You like that Rick?   ;)  It is pretty sweet isn't it!

It is going to have to hang on the ceiling in the shop because I don't have enough wall space to accomodate it.  But it will look good in the shop.
