Welcome Area / Roll-O-Flex tee shirts
« on: September 28, 2014, 06:57:42 pm »
These shirts are available for $30 Canadian plus shipping. Or they will be available at the provincial snowmobile show in Saskatoon on the November 7-9 weekend.  We will have an SVSA table set up in the vintage display. These turned out more expensive than we would have liked but with all the colours that are on the shirt this is the price we came to and we are taking a few dollar loss on them but they are beautiful shirts. You can pre order any size shirt from small to XXXL. We are making a substantial order as well but can't promise we will have the size you need if you don't pre order. Please order through me at

Events / 2013 Roll-O-Flex Reunion and Tregarva Vintage Show & Swap
« on: May 05, 2013, 06:47:54 pm »
This year the reunion is Saturday July 6th. I'm also having a show and I invite all makes and models to come out and be shown.  If anyone wants to bring some parts to sell or swap that's fine by me.  Trying to get a show and swap in mid summer to break things up between race season and the Earl Grey swap and show in early December.

The Roll-O-Flex alumni will be in attendance and Roll-O-Flex will be the main focus of the day. I am going to try and set up caterer that has a mobile burger stand for food (still have to finalize this). Bring your own refreshments and lawn chair.

Located 6 miles north of Regina on #6 hwy then west 2 miles (Turn at the very very large house on the corner) on the #734 (still asphalt). I will have our mailbox marked at our lane. The yard is 1/2 mile north on the dead end gravel road.

Come any time after 9am and stay as long as you want.  Some of us will be burning the midnight oil and you are all welcome to stay. Any questions please email, call or text.

Announcements / My son racing his single too!
« on: February 17, 2013, 09:31:43 pm »
Here is my son on his 73 GT 290 (with 74 hood).  It did better than I thought and kinda ran like a turd.  We dumped the Keihn carb before the race this weekend and put on a Mikuni VM and its way better off the line.  We picked this sled up as a vintage trail rider and had no plans on racing it so it doesn;t have studs in it.........yet ;D  It's got lots of potential and we will get there but just haven't spent any time on it at all.  Planning on making some improvements for next year!

« on: February 17, 2013, 09:07:34 pm »
After receiving this little gem late last January I was hoping to race it last year.  I had some head gasket issues and ended up melting it down in testing before a race and never had time to get it up for the second and final race last year due to low snow conditions.  Well I got my ducks in a row and its making 660ft passes on snow up here in Saskatchewan and I'm very happy with it so far.  Had some clutching issues the first race in Moose Jaw and then I had over fueling problems in Foam Lake last weekend.  This weekend in Earl Grey I had all the bugs worked out and it paid dividends!  Here are my resluts so far

Moose Jaw

1st place       73 & older 340 MOD
3rd place       73 & older 400 MOD

« on: January 11, 2012, 07:17:02 pm »
The SVSA (Saskatchewan Vintage Snowmobile Association) is going to be registering race sled numbers for all the Saskatchewan vintage drag races starting this winter.  As such you can register the number on your sled for a minimal fee of $5 per sled for 2 racing seasons (2012 & 2013).  Number will only be guaranteed up until 4 days prior to a race.  We have a section of www.sasksnowmobile.com set aside for us to relay news and information in the Saskatchewan vintage scene so please keep an eye on it.  It is free to join the site and takes only a few minutes. Please post on the website or send us an email to svsanumbers@gmail.com.  We would like you to include your full name, the numbers you require, email address and phone number that we will keep on file so that this information can be used to contact you when numbers need to be re-registered.  We will post a list on the website for public viewing that will have only race numbers and names.  We will not publicize your email or phone number.  Numbers will be given out at a first come first serve basis so please bare with us as we are sure to be flooded with many requests.  A paypal account will be up and running shortly for those who prefer to use it, for those who don't a cheque for your total can be made out to the SVSA and mailed to

SVSA
6 Drope Street
Regina, Sk

Hopefully this number registration will relieve some of the stress on the club members during the registration process on race day.  Best regards from the SVSA and have a great season of racing!

For Sale / 1974 Roll-O-Flex Wild One
« on: December 18, 2011, 09:42:47 pm »
Selling a 340 fan cooled Wild One.  This sled was restored 2 years ago and has very few miles since then.  The motor was completeley rebuilt from the crank up.  It has brand new Mikuni carbs as the originals were beyond saving.  It has many reproduction parts including windshield, handle bar grips, decals, foot pads(not pictured), knee pads, tool pouch, seat and rear passenger grab handles. The custom orange windshield is cracked so a new and correct smoked windshield will be provided.  Asking $4500 for this sled.

please respond to richardgehl@gmail.com

1974 Wild One / It's raining Wild Ones!!!
« on: December 14, 2011, 09:15:58 pm »
Took delivery of my new wild one today, and by new I mean it has zero miles on it! Sat outside for a bit but it came with a NOS kohler free air motor that was never installed in the chassis. It has aluminum skis with aluminum leafs that are in amazing shape!  Even the bottoms are like new. I also mangaed to get an all aluminum rear suspension with it. I've been told 1971 Skidoo blizzard?

Can anyone confirm the origins of the suspension and skis?

Roll-O-Flex History / 1974 Sno Pro 340 - factory racer
« on: December 10, 2011, 10:50:10 pm »
Many of you will have seen the picture of Gene on his 1974 Wild One Sno Pro sled that was one of two sleds hand built by the boys at the factory.  There was a 340 which Gene raced and also 440 in the bottom picture which was piloted by Barry Thuen.

One of these sleds was located almost 2 years ago for me by Mike Stratychuk.  Well as of today I am the proud owner of Gene's 340 Sno Pro.  This is how it sat outside in northern Saskatchewan, disguised as a run of the mill fan cooled Wild One but with a Polaris TX free air in side.  This machine was parked may times outside a local coffe shop where the old owner used it to go for coffee at the local hangout.
