New to the Forum and to the world of Vintage Snowmobiles.   Was just given a snowmobile from my neighbor.  If is what I believe to be a GT 292.  Last registered and run in 85, but engine pulls over nicely.  Was adult owned and seems unmolested...even comes with the original, mouse eaten cover. Any help with ID or resources/known problems would be appreciated.   Will be tearing into the engine this week.  I'm expecting fuel lines, cleaning the points, plug, etc.  I am sure the carb will need some attention but since it was last run before ethanol was in our fuel I am hoping that it will not be too bad.

Good Afternoon,

does anyone know of any other models from 1970 carry parts which would match my PT292.  I have heard Boa-ski and Sno-Jet had similar components.

I am after mainly a new chain case but could maybe use a few other parts rather than refurbishing individual items.  Thanks!

Good Afternoon,

I am just starting the rebuild of a 1970 PT292 (my Dad's first machine) and I am looking for the following:

Chain case,
Fuel Tank muffler

If you know where I can find these it will make this project go much smoother!  Thanks

Look further down the topics listed. Theres a few good posts pertaining to the Smith Roles machines. Also, put up a pic or 2 as guys are always interested to see those machines. Where are you located?

the sled is disassembled. The track in the sled has 46 lugs. I found a NOS track with 47 lugs. I think it will work

I gave him my original seat, the one in the top picture, so he could copy it for my other Wild One.

They did keep the pattern and are more than willing to make more.

He is reproducing the cover for my 76 Cat Sno Pro right now and just finished recovering a seat for my 79 ski-doo SS. He is a talented guy. This is his living.
